Pet wellness is no longer only about food, exercise, and occasional vet visits. For many pet parents, it is also about creating daily routines that help dogs feel more comfortable as they age, recover, or simply rest after an active day.
That is where Beddie™ brings a more complete approach. While red light therapy, near-infrared light, and PEMF all support the body’s natural wellness processes, they do not work in exactly the same way. Red and near-infrared light use photons to interact with cells through light-sensitive pathways, while PEMF uses low-frequency electromagnetic pulses to support electrical activity and circulation within the body.
Together, these technologies support different layers of pet wellness, from surface-level comfort to deeper tissue support, all within a familiar resting space.
What Is Included in the Beddie™ Pet Therapy Bed?
Beddie™ is a pet therapy bed designed to combine rest, comfort, and non-invasive wellness support in one daily-use format. Instead of asking pets to sit still for a separate treatment, Beddie™ brings pet wellness technology into something dogs already understand: rest.
The bed includes 650nm red light, 850nm near-infrared light, and PEMF therapy for pets with a frequency range of 15.2Hz–50.6Hz and magnetic strength of 25 Gauss (GS). Each technology plays a different role in supporting comfort, relaxation, and everyday recovery.
Beddie™ also includes an orthopedic support layer, helping pets settle into a comfortable resting position during each session. This matters because consistency is key. When therapy feels natural and comfortable, it becomes easier to build into a daily wellness routine.
How Red Light and Near-Infrared Light Support Pet Wellness
Red light and near-infrared light are forms of photobiomodulation, a non-invasive approach that uses specific wavelengths of light to support cellular responses in living tissue. Veterinary research describes photobiomodulation as a technique that uses red and near-infrared wavelengths to encourage beneficial tissue responses, including support for healing, comfort, and recovery.
Beddie™ uses 650nm red light and 850nm near-infrared light because each wavelength reaches the body differently. Red light is often associated with surface-level support, including skin, coat, and superficial muscle comfort. Near-infrared light penetrates more deeply, making it useful for areas such as muscles, joints, and connective tissues.
At the cellular level, red and near-infrared light are commonly discussed for their interaction with mitochondria, helping support energy-related processes, tissue oxygenation, and the body’s natural response to inflammation and discomfort.
How PEMF Adds a Different Layer of Support
PEMF does not use light. Instead, it emits low-frequency pulsed electromagnetic fields that pass through the body to support deeper tissue activity. This makes PEMF different from red light and near-infrared light because it is not limited by the same light-penetration pathways.
Every cell in the body depends on electrical activity across the cell membrane. When pets are aging, recovering, or experiencing stiffness, that natural cellular environment may become less efficient. PEMF is designed to gently stimulate the body with pulsed electromagnetic fields, supporting circulation, cellular balance, and deeper relaxation.
In pet wellness, PEMF is often valued for its non-invasive nature and its ability to support deeper areas such as joints, muscles, and connective tissue. For dogs dealing with everyday stiffness or mobility changes, this adds another layer of support beyond light-based therapy alone.
Why Combine Red Light, NIR, and PEMF Together?
Beddie™ combines red light, near-infrared light, and PEMF because each technology supports pet wellness from a different angle. Red light helps support surface-level comfort. Near-infrared light reaches deeper muscles and joints. PEMF adds a deeper electromagnetic layer that can pass through tissues more broadly.
This creates a “stacking” effect. PEMF helps support circulation and tissue activity, while red and near-infrared light provide targeted light energy to support localized comfort and recovery. When used together, these technologies may help create a more complete environment for relaxation, movement support, and everyday wellness.
For pets, this combination is especially practical because the body is not one-dimensional. Skin, muscles, joints, circulation, and rest quality are all connected. Beddie™ is designed to support these layers together, while letting your pet relax in a comfortable orthopedic bed.
What Does Research Say About Pet Wellness Technology?
Research into pet wellness technology is growing, especially around photobiomodulation and PEMF for dogs with mobility concerns. In a randomized, double-blinded controlled trial on dogs with hip osteoarthritis, photobiomodulation therapy was associated with reduced pain levels, improved clinical findings, and better joint range of motion over time.
PEMF research in dogs is also developing. A prospective, randomized, controlled, double-blinded crossover study evaluated PEMF therapy in dogs with signs of hip osteoarthritis, while later research reported that PEMF may be non-invasive, well tolerated, and potentially helpful for improving gait symmetry and reducing clinical symptoms associated with osteoarthritis in dogs.
These findings do not mean every pet will respond the same way, and Beddie™ is not a replacement for veterinary care. However, the research supports the broader idea that non-invasive technologies such as red light, near-infrared light, and PEMF may play a meaningful role in comfort-focused pet wellness routines.
How to Set Up Beddie™ in Your Pet’s Daily Routine
Beddie™ is designed to make pet wellness feel simple and familiar. Place the bed in an area your pet already enjoys, such as a quiet corner, bedroom, living room, or favorite resting spot. Let your dog approach naturally, settle in, and relax during the session.
By default, both LED light therapy, including 650nm red light and 850nm near-infrared light, and PEMF will start together. This makes it easy to begin a combined therapy session without complicated setup.
To use only LED light therapy, press the PEMF button to turn off the PEMF function. For best results, keep the routine calm and consistent. Avoid forcing your pet to stay on the bed. The goal is to make therapy feel like part of their natural rest routine, not a stressful treatment.
